For my MA Fine Art final major project, I explored a dialogical relationship with the local woodland at Lancaster University. During woodland walks I transcribed textures and traces of environmental encounters onto paper and canvas by pressing the surfaces against trees. The corresponding paintings and drawings are composed of intricate, detailed marks resembling alphabets or musical notes, revealing the dialogue through a language of interaction.
